Fresh Bean and Asparagus Salad

Fresh beans from my Aunt Mary's garden, a trip to Haymarket and a summer pot luck lunch at the lake... perfect for this summer side!

What's in the fridge:
A large handful of wax beans
A bunch of asparagus, tips cut off
Juice of one lemon
1/2 a pint of cherry tomatoes
1/2 a container of fresh mozzarella balls (halved)
Small bunch of basil chopped
Olive oil for dressing

Some of the ingredients
 Directions:
- Bring salted water to a boil and boil asparagus for 5 minutes
- Add beans to boiled water and continue to cook for 5 more minutes

Boiling the veggies
- Remove beans and asparagus from hot water and briefly run under cold water to stop the cooking
- Chop beans and asparagus into one inch pieces

Chop chop!
- Put the salad together: Mix together the veggies, lemon juice, mozzarella, tomatoes, olive oil, basil, and salt to taste.

Bon appetit!
